Timeless, Elegant Wedding Inspiration: Hannah and CJ’s Montecito Wedding

I’m thrilled to share a glimpse into a recent wedding where I had the honor of designing luxury invitations and day of details that captured the couple’s elegant and timeless style.

When Hannah and CJ approached me to design the stationery for their wedding, I knew we were about to create something truly magical. Set against the stunning backdrop of Montecito, California, their vision for a day filled with elegance and personal touches was clear from the start. From invitations to the tiniest details, every element needed to reflect their story in a way that felt luxurious, timeless, and uniquely them.

Hannah and CJ celebrated their special day in a breathtaking private estate. We wanted the invitations and day of stationery to capture the beauty of the locale and feel elegant and timeless, with a slight touch of whimsical artistry. For their invitations, we created a custom design that blended neutral florals with fun die cut shapes and original watercolor to set the perfect tone. It was a true reflection of their love story and gave their guests a taste of what was to come.

Our mood board was full of beachy-elegance, taking inspiration from the colors and textures of sand, seashells, dried leaves for the beginning of fall, white florals, and gold and pear accents that would be pulled into the day of stationery.

We started with the invitations, which were designed to reflect a modern, simple romance. I chose 100% cotton paper in a natural white, Mist-colored envelopes, and a soft grey text, to echo the wedding’s palette of creams and whites. I incorporated custom elements like original hand-painted florals, a stunning calligraphy font, and some fun accents like die-cut shapes for the details and rsvp card. We added fun touches like a watercolor disco ball to highlight the vibe of the after party. And a custom laser-cut magnolia leaf wrap to symbolize beauty, purity, and femininity. The end result was a luxurious suite that beautifully captured the couple’s personality and gave their guests a taste of the grand celebration to come

For the weekend, we carried this vision through to the day-of details and signage, crafting table numbers, menus, signature cocktail signs, place cards and other signage for the welcome party, as well as menus, cocktail signs, hand-calligraphy place cards, and other signage that added a cohesive and elegant touch to every moment. The entire look and feel seamlessly tied together to create a beautiful, unforgettable experience for the couple and their guests.

The night before, the stationery and signage brought every detail to life. From elegant welcome signs that greeted guests to delicate watercolor menus at each table, everything was meticulously crafted to ensure a cohesive look. The place cards, adorned with a soft grey calligraphy font, added a personalized touch to each setting, while the custom seating chart ensured everyone found their place in style. Every piece seamlessly reflected the luxurious tone set by the invitations.

On the wedding day itself, the attention to detail in the stationery truly elevated the entire celebration. The couple was overjoyed with how everything turned out, and the table decor and signage added to the sophisticated yet welcoming ambiance of the day. Hearing feedback like, ‘The invitations were a work of art!’ or ‘The place cards were such a thoughtful touch,’ confirmed that our designs had the impact we hoped for, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who attended.

We created custom oval menus that highlighted the venue watercolor on the back, and had gold foil accents on the front.

The menus were attached to hand-calligraphy acrylic place cards with hand dyed silk ribbon.

It was an incredible honor to design for such a magical day, and I can’t wait to see more couples bring their vision to life in the future.

Reflecting on Hannah and CJ’s wedding, I feel so honored to have played a role in their unforgettable day. Designing for such a beautiful couple, who truly embraced the luxury and personalization that great stationery can bring, reminded me why I’m passionate about what I do. Every detail—from the invitations to the final sign—contributed to the elegance of their celebration, and I’m excited to see more couples incorporating such thoughtful design elements into their weddings moving forward.
